About eventing
EVENTING is one of the fastest growing equestrian pursuits in the world. Riders of all ages and abilities can compete. Developed from cavalry competitions during the early 1900s, it is the ultimate challenge for horse and rider. It tests their partnership and athletic prowess in three disciplines: the grace and harmony of dressage; the rigors and thrills of cross-country jumping and the power and pageantry of stadium jumping.
About Red Hills
Named for the sloping terrain and rich red earth known as the "red hills" of north Florida and South Georgia, the Horse Trials features a challenging cross-country course newly updated and designed for 2010 by Scotland's Hugh Lochore.

Course Designer/Builder
Hugh Lochore was born into a large Eventing family, with both of my parents riding internationally for Great Britain, and my brother, my sister and myself all competing up to CCI*** level, my brother, Alec, going on to complete multiple at CCI****’s. Being a little larger in stature than most event riders, it didn’t take me long to switch from the saddle to a more constructive role as a x-country course builder. On leaving university in the UK, my first overseas building project was a small x-country course in Tallahassee, Florida for the Phipps family. Little did I, or they, for that matter, realize at the time that this was to blossom into The Red Hills International Horse Trials that we know today.
