Live Scoring Results

Live from Red Hills - Sunday, March 7th - Stadium Jumping

In this phase, horse and rider jump a series of painted fences in an enclosed arena. Stadium jumping tests the obedience and suppleness of the horse and demonstrates that sufficient stamina and fitness still remain after the strenuous demands of cross-country.

Saturday March 6, 2010 - Cross Country

This second test is the heart of the sport. Horse and rider gallop over natural terrain, jumping a variety of fixed obstacles along the way. The rider may inspect the course beforehand, but the horse leaves the starting box not knowing what lies ahead. This demands absolute trust between horse and rider.

Friday March 5, 2010 - Dressage - Some call it horse ballet, Dressage, the French word for training is the foundation for Eventing. It's where horse and rider begin their communication and partnership. Staged in an arena, the rider takes the horse through a series of specific movements under the watchful eye of the officials.

The Avenue of Shops is open all day, and the food-court has everything for kids and adults alike - speaking of kids, they are free and there are plenty of activities (including pony rides!) to keep them busy.

Spectators have been treated to a birds-eye view of the Cross Country course that will be used in tomorrow's phase of the three day eventing.

Red Hills Rides Again! (Live coverage from Day 1 on WCTV)

Since its inception in 1998, the Red Hills Horse Trials has become one of the premier equestrian eventing competitions in the United States. Held annually on the beautiful grounds of Tallahassee's Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park, Red Hills Horse Trials is one of the Red Hills Region's most anticipated sporting events of the year.

Through its partnership with the State of Florida, Leon County and the City of Tallahassee, Red Hills Horse Trials has hosted some of the world's best riders and horses from 11 countries and 28 states. Each year the Red Hills community embraces this nationally recognized event with support from over 600 volunteers and more than 25,000 spectators.

Internationally recognized for its accomplishments, RHHT hosted the first United States East Coast World Cup Qualifier in 2003 and every year through 2008. Red Hills has been approached to host the Qualifier again in 2010.

In keeping with our mission to raise funds to benefit non profit organizations with compatible educational and environmental purposes, Red Hills Horse Trials contributes to our two beneficiaries; Tall Timbers Research Station and the Elinor Klapp - Phipps Park.
